Jim Hansel is a renowned American artist celebrated for his breathtaking wildlife, nature, and landscape paintings. Despite being legally blind due to a degenerative eye condition known as Stargardt's disease, Hansel has achieved remarkable success in his field. From a young age, Hansel showed a strong artistic talent and a deep love for wildlife and the outdoors. His condition requires him to use magnifiers and low-vision devices to create his detailed images, often working just inches away from the canvas. He also relies on photographs to capture landscapes and subjects, which he enlarges to see more clearly. Hansel’s determination and talent have earned him national recognition and numerous awards. Since releasing his first image in 1987, he has produced over 200 limited edition prints, many of which have sold out. His wife, Lois, plays a significant role in the success of their art business by overseeing the production of his prints.
