David Maass Late Autumn-Pheasants

In the David Maass print LATE AUTUMN-PHEASANTS three pheasants are flushed out of their hiding place in a recently harvested cornfield. Ringneck pheasants are probably the most popular upland game bird in all of North America.

Ring-necked pheasants are popular game birds normally found in areas of farm fields and native grasslands which create an ideal habitat. They are often seen along rural roadsides, in overgrown or recently harvested fields, and in brushy areas and hedgerows.  They typically only resort to flying when disturbed at close range by humans or other predators.
