Edward Aldrich Lions Lair

Mountain lions are also knows as cougars and pumas.  They can live in a variety of climates and prefer to hunt from elevations such as the rocky cliffs shown in the Edward Aldrich print Lion's Lair.  The rocky cliffs give them an advantage of ambushing their prey from above. They can easily drop more than 50 feet on to unsuspecting prey without injury to themselves.  in the U.S., mountain lions favor whitetail and mule deer, but will eat any large game.
